This information describes the new Rijmaatje website and the features you use here.
Saving, comparing and appearance
Saved schools use localStorage on your device under rijmaatje:v2:saved. Comparison uses sessionStorage under rijmaatje:v2:compare. This does not create an account or email your selection. When you open comparison, your browser requests the selected public school IDs from Rijmaatje. This localStorage has no configured automatic expiry; clear it using the website or browser settings. Comparison storage belongs to the browser session; session restoration may depend on your settings. Where storage is blocked, temporary features remain available where possible. Appearance follows your device’s light or dark setting by default. If you select Light or Dark, only that choice is stored locally under rijmaatje-appearance, with no automatic expiry. This preference is not sent to Rijmaatje or anyone else. Selecting Automatic clears the saved choice; you can also clear it in your browser settings. We store your optional analytics choice locally under rijmaatje:analytics-consent:v1, with a sixty-day expiry. Reading the choice does not renew that period. Without valid consent we do not load Google Analytics. Cookie preferences lets you reopen your choice, decline or withdraw consent. Withdrawal stops measurement through this integration and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies on this domain. It does not delete data already lawfully processed.
Functional cookies and security
Functional HttpOnly cookies bind forms and private information to the same browser. Contact and new-school registrations use a two-hour browser cookie. School forms and reviews share a two-hour browser cookie; operator pages renew that shared cookie for eight hours. Receipt cookies last ten minutes for contact and school enquiries, and thirty minutes for new-school registrations and reviews. The requested operator-code cookie lasts ten minutes. For a requested My Rijmaatje sign-in code, we also use a separate cookie lasting ten minutes (600 seconds). It binds the code request to the same browser. The one-time email code is also valid for ten minutes and works only in the browser where it was requested. A school session lasts two hours and an operator session eight hours; signing out or revocation can stop access earlier. Cookies may be renewed during use. The cookies described above are SameSite=Strict and also Secure on HTTPS. If you open the purchase of a paid verified profile, the payment flow also uses a separate eight-hour HttpOnly browser cookie with SameSite=Lax, also Secure on HTTPS. It binds your order, payment status and subscription management to the same browser and supports returning after a check by your payment method when needed. You pay on a Rijmaatje page using a secure Stripe payment form. This payment cookie does not create a school session. This storage supports features you choose to use. Clearing cookies may require signing in again and does not delete a submitted message.
External services
The Rijmaatje app serves images and fonts locally and contains no advertising tracker or external map embed. The profile statistics described above are processed within Rijmaatje. Google Analytics is loaded only on public pages of rijmaatje.nl after you allow analytics. The _ga and _ga_* cookies distinguish visits within this analytics service; they last up to sixty days and are not automatically renewed. We do not use Google Signals or advertising features. We do not load Google Analytics on forms, payment pages, management pages or Mijn Rijmaatje. We load Stripe only on the payment page linked to your order, for its secure payment form. You enter payment information in an isolated Stripe frame; Stripe may use functional storage for payment and security. You manage your subscription, invoices and cancellation through Rijmaatje. Outgoing links open other services with their own rules. Hosting and mail may process technical access and security records. Cookie preferences at the bottom of a public page lets you withdraw analytics consent at any time.
